Roads Right-of-Way

Please note, the Town Board has broad authority to regulate what occurs within the Township's "Public Road Right-of-Way",  which includes the traveled portion of the road, shoulders and the remaining area on sides of the road extending to the outer boundaries of the right-of-way. The outer boundaries of the right-of-way  extends approximately fifteen feet (15’)  from the edge of the pavement. To avoid having to remove any obstructions placed within our right of way at a future date, we want to let you know the following information: 

Rocks, boulders, retaining walls,  berms, shrubs, trees, other plants, fences, barrier walls and excavation within this area is PROHIBITED. Should you decide to install irrigation within the road right-of-way, the Town is not liable for any damages which may occur to the system (sprinkler heads, grass, sod,  etc.)  Excavation or alteration of ditches, grade, contour,  embankment or road drainage is NOT ALLOWED.

ROW (Right-of-Way) Permits are required for any work done in Orrock Township right-of-ways.
