Affidavits of Candidacy

Individuals get their names on the ballot by filing an Affidavit of Candidacy during the filing period.  Affidavits are available online  or at Orrock Town Hall.  Residents interested in running for office are able to file an Affidavit of Candidacy starting July 28, 2020 through August 11, 2020.

If you bring a signed affidavit to the Town Hall, it must also be notarized. If you file in person and do not have your signature notarized beforehand, do not sign the affidavit until you get to the filing office.  A fee is due at the time of filing. The fee can be paid with cash or check (no credit cards).  The filing fee for Orrock Township Office is $2.00.

Affidavits of Candidacy shall be filed with the Town Clerk by appointment.  Contact the Township Clerk, Brenda Kimberly-Maas, 763-263-8111 or the Township Deputy Clerk Chris Weber, 612-987-2223 to set up an appointment to file an Affidavit of Candidacy.

A packet of filing information, including affidavit of candidacy, address of residence form,  information on campaign finance , candidate information form, and the IRS information handout will be provided to all individuals who file.
